More About Bam
Bam Hyslop | Award-winning photographer
Bam Hyslop is a versatile award-winning photographer who captures the vital essence of her subjects on film with stunning imagery. Her skills have been recognised three times over by the leading qualifying body in the UK, The British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP).
Bam’s talents range from high-impact portraiture to reportage, to traditional and more unusual style weddings. She also specialises in commercial and architectural photography, interiors and landscapes.
While studying to become a professional photographer in the West of Scotland Bam won four major awards, three of which were from the BIPP. Her fourth award was the ICI Olmec Student Award for Digital Manipulation, for her image titled ‘Jelly Fish’, which appeared on the front cover of the F2 Freelance + Digital magazine.
Before becoming a photographer, Bam was known for her high standards and utter commitment in her retail trade business. Now she employs those same high standards and drive for quality in whichever field of photography she is working.
Although originally from the Isle of Islay, Bam now operates from her own studio in Kilmacolm, Scotland where she fulfils her many varied portraiture commissions. She also operates a wedding photography service with fellow photographer Diane Finn travelling the length and breadth of the country.
Whenever she gets the chance, Bam enjoys ‘Westering Home’ to Islay, where she is clearly inspired by the landscape and the locals – they both feature largely in her work.
She has produced a limited edition collection of her images for sale and is always keen to discuss individual and corporate commissions.
